"Somehow, I think you would have managed," he says, and waits for her to fish out her keys and unlock the door. He could probably stand to head back to his own apartment first, if only to drop off his bag, but they're already here now, so he doesn't see much point. Besides, he'll probably only stick around for a drink or two; they both have places to be in the morning.
